The gold standard of business news

Morning Brew is transforming the way working professionals consume business news.

They skip the jargon and lengthy stories, and instead serve up the news impacting your life and career with a hint of wit and humor. This way, you’ll actually enjoy reading the news—and the information sticks.

Best part? Morning Brew’s newsletter is completely free. Sign up in just 10 seconds and if you realize that you prefer long, dense, and boring business news—you can always go back to it.

Did you know that some of the biggest food businesses started as accidents?

For example, the microwave was invented after a scientist, Percy Spence, noticed a chocolate bar in his pocket melted while he was working with radar technology. Spence experimented with popcorn and eggs—leading to the invention of the microwave oven. What started as a random discovery is now a kitchen essential worldwide.

It’s a great reminder that sometimes, game-changing innovations come from unexpected moments and willingness to explore the unknown.

We are currently working on a microwave that is actually safe to put metal inside. No one likes cold spoons. 🥶

ICE CREAM ON AUTOPILOT

Just this Sunday, I was watching sports on tv and eating a whole pint of ice cream. But there was one problem. Earlier that day, I stopped at the local ice cream shop, saw 200 different flavors of ice cream. I couldn’t decide on what to get. I was holding up the line. My palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms were heavy. I just could not get myself to pick something.

Finally, I thought about my favorite color, I chose mango. Yummmmm.

You see when I was home, I was actually still processing the flavors available to me. I couldn’t just pick all of them because I would never finish them.

Why isn’t there an easier way to taste all of the flavors without having to buy all of the flavors?

Well, Jeni’s Ice Cream already made a subscription service, where you receive a variety of flavors every month. You also pay $759 per year.

My solution to my silly problem is this: A subscription service for not just one, but all of the local ice cream shops in your area. This would allow all of the ice cream shops to gain popularity and a chance at recurring revenue.

What’s in it for you? You get to try all of the ice cream without having to drive to each shop, every weekend. Now my friend, launch this business now or else someone might be scooping up your success.

NATIVE DEODORANT, BUT FOR CANDLES?

Native Deodorant’s story is quite interesting. When the founder was asked, why he chose to make a chemical free deodorant for men, here is his response:

“My sister was pregnant with her first child, and she smelled a bit funny, so I asked why she wasn’t using deodorant. She mentioned that she didn’t want to poison her first born with all these chemicals that get absorbed and end up with the kid.”

Future parents, do you really want your babies to be born with an addiction to chemically produced deodorant?

Now imagine the same shift happening in the candle industry.

90% of all store bought candles are packed with synthetic fragrances and wax, polluting the air in your home. An all-natural, chemical-free candle brand could do for home scents what Native did for deodorant—offering clean ingredients without compromising on quality or fragrance.

Add to that, create a monthly subscription, where you can ship out candles weekly or monthly.

The opportunity is burning bright. Wait, do you smell that?
